Choosing a Diamond: Start with What Matters to You
The traditional guide to diamonds covers the four Cs; cut, colour, clarity, and carat. They are useful, but they are not the whole story. At Allgem, we also talk about origin, certification, ethics, and how the stone actually looks to your eye rather than on a grading report alone.
We stock natural white diamonds, Argyle pink diamonds, champagne and chocolate diamonds, yellow diamonds, and certified lab grown diamonds. Each has different characteristics, price points, and appeal. Our job is to explain the differences honestly so you can choose with confidence.
If you already know what you want, we will help you find it. If you are still learning, we will answer your questions for as long as it takes. We have done this for three generations; there are no silly questions.
Custom Design
A Bespoke Ring, Made Right Here in Perth
About half the engagement rings we sell are custom designed. Some clients arrive with a Pinterest board; others arrive with a rough sketch on a napkin. Either way, we can help.
Our process is straightforward:
Consultation – We sit down with you (and your partner, if they are involved) to talk about style, stone, metal, budget, and timeline.
Design – We produce a CAD rendering or a hand-drawn sketch depending on the complexity of the piece. You see the design before any metal is cut.
Quote – We give you a fixed quote. No hidden fees, no surprises.
Manufacture – Our jewellers manufacture and set the ring in our workshop beneath the showroom. The ring never leaves the building.
Delivery – You collect your ring, we check the fit, and we explain how to care for it.
We recommend starting the custom process at least six to eight weeks before your proposal, though we can sometimes accommodate tighter timelines. We also stock Roberto Coin and BECKS wedding ring ranges for couples who want matching sets.
Please note: we do not use client-supplied metals, but we can use client-supplied gemstones subject to inspection and insurance.
